Chaos, etc.

What I wanted to do on SL this month (OK now last month) was to redo the Vent du Sud main store, finish a whole line of new stuff, and dance a little.

RL turned out otherwise so I have been on and off planes (and not for a vacation).

I did, however, get these out... easy to find in the (not redone) main store.

9 prims, TRANSFER... and 1L

Yes, OK, it's a little early but I have to get on a few more planes over the next couple of weeks. In fact, on 14 February I shall in fact be flying from France to an obscure part of Africa for a few days.

10 prims, TRANSFER, and 1L

Transfer, for a change so you can give them to somebody (no really?).

Do drop by, and remember that all Vent du Sud decor is at 1L.

Always.

Something different for Valentine's day?

Wooo Saturday!

And double woo, SL is (usually) letting me take photos again without the UI going transparent on me. The good thing - maybe - is that according to the Jira it's not only me.

But enough rambling, because the 14th is nearly on us.

Did you buy something for your partner? And even if you did, how about a little extra: something that you can look at all year round and remember why and when you bought it?

One of these flowerboxes could be just the thing: and of course they're transfer to make gift-giving even easier. And the perfect size to be a striking piece over a fireplace (we have those too!) or to brighten up a wall.

A flowerbox means that extra touch of luxury to your decor: they're classy, unusual, in styles to suit many tastes, and exclusive to Vent du Sud.

Lots of different ones too, and they change regularly: drop in and take a look (and sign up for the subscribo - regular gifts and offers).
(Pssst... this small silver version is going in there TODAY)

Champagne, discreet hearts, fresh flowers, sumptuous textures, intricate details. Wouldn't someone you know enjoy receiving one as a small but lasting token of how much you care?

Today, both Valentine models (1o and 9 prims) are at just 60L. A small price for something that will last long after the 14th.

Still some pretty Valentine's dollarbies out too, and with that special Vent du Sud touch.

And what if you wanted something other than pink for that special Valentine's date?

Rett was feeling generous last night when I started wheedling about offers: she's put this really delicious white lace-up number out for only 200L instead of 300L.

Perfect for a hot night out, dressed up with some jewelry but equally perfect for a romantic evening at home. Sometimes, simplicity works. And sexy... oh yes. Tell me a guy who doesn't appreciate a split skirt, or even satin and lace.

Get it quick: it's out front at Rett's store, right on the square. Oh and guys? It's also transfer. Take the hint!

Off to take more photos before my luck changes!

A little (affordable) luxury this Sunday?

Luxury: it's a bit easier to achieve on SL than in RL, but even then... not always that easy or I'd have a whole sim and not have to sit on my hands when I see fatpacks...

But over three years in SL, I've got picky (this being a euphemism for snob). So I'm all the more happy that the gang at Vent du Sud would rather turn out a few things, lovingly created, than focus on rushing things out for a quick buck. Mind, I wish we could afford not to sell things at all but just give them away... a girl can dream, eh?

So - here's a couple of 'luxuries' for the weekend. No, not freebies, although we'll always do those... (and still lots of Valentine's dollarbies and 5L specials at Vent du Sud... grab those too! )

First, how about a Valentine's gift that will stay beautiful all year round, and remind you of great, romantic moments?

I've made two flowerboxes: not too primmy (10) in two very different styles: glass or wood, and normally I'd put them on sale at around 150L. But this SUNDAY they're at 60L only: they're transfer, so perfect for a gift, or simply to put on your own wall. Here.
(Apologies for the dodgy photos but EVERY time I take one lately, all my dialogue boxes go transparent and it's driving me NUTS).

Next, fountains. When Menthal Oh makes fountains... he makes fountains. Ranging from simple and sober to more quirky and downright fun. Water that trickles, flows: intricate doesn't describe it. Here are a couple.

Yes, they're a bit primmy... but unique. And none of them are over 200L. Gorgeous for your apartment, or a fantastic decoration for your store.

And no, I'm not forgetting fashion. How could I because there, luxury is just as important.

Can't you just imagine the swish of this skirt? A super outfit (mix and match it too). Beautifully finished, and made by French designers who know what looking really chic and classy is about.

The whole outfit is just gorgeous, and it's on sale at Ashton and Lane: "Moulin Rouge". It's... gorgeous. Adjectives fail me, obviously.
Don't forget they also have TWO amazing freebies: white stilettos and 3 beautifully made basic tops. Direct tp HERE.

So, that's the 'luxury line-up' for this weekend.

Sundays are great for SL shopping, so how about offering yourself a little LUXURY...
... at Vent du Sud, of course!

Opera and oil lamps (and Mr Oh)

Elegance, class, unusual - that's something we aim for at Vent du Sud. Except when we're fooling around on the square in Menthal's go-karts or playing with tumbling... things on the square, but that's another story...

Our latest store, Ferri & Lane, is no exception. Take a look at this simply superb "Opera" gown. The ladies are French, and I think on this gown, you can feel that. Subtle colours, heavy satin, fine detailing. Perfect for a very special night out... and yet both parts would mix and match so well.

True French fashion, exquisitely finished, for 380L. Quality has a price, but this, I think, is a fair one. (And yes, I'm working on them for some special Vent du Sud promotions!)

Find it in their new, Ferri & Lane store (and check out their other outfits: all with that special something): right near the pool / ice rink and easily visible from the main square.

As for me, I've been working on making your walls prettier. Not contented with fiddling with oil lamps (they'll be available separately soon), I decided to blend one into a "flowerbox" that mixes light and flowers and fine brocade. Find it at Fleurs du Sud just across the main square.

Yes, the oil lamp works: click the controls and the flame lights or goes out. Click the chimney and it lights up (see picture to the left).
So for just 150L, you have a statement piece for a room that fits either modern or classical surroundings. And most of all, it's a very modest 10 prims for both lighting and floral art in one. Transfer too, so a great gift!

And... erm... it's pretty. Even if Menthal Oh said it would be great in a funeral parlour too. For that... I threatened to double his rent or stop blogging his stuff.

Being a kind sort of landlady, however, I won't.

Being a scatterbrain, however, means I can't find the photos of his latest gadget so that'll have to wait for tomorrow. Unless, of course you wanted over to Vent du Sud and check out his great idea for a sim or a party. Just find the light bulbs in front of his store, right on the square.

Rezzday specials at last!

Yes, it's rezzday plus three. I know, I know. But my SL decided to refuse to take photographs unless it turned all my dialogue boxes transparent. Frustration... so better late than never.

BUT...

I've now marked down ALL my 'flowerboxes' from around 129L to between 5 and 25L, today only. Find them here.
The leather one above also comes in bluee, and it looks great on walls (and no alpha clashes!). Check out others with flowing water, candles... I confess to being proud of them!

Great statement pieces, and so much more fun than just a pot of flowers. It includes some pretty, three-prim pillars for just 5L.

Another fireplace at 50% too... and so much more news and things to discover on and around the square at Vent du Sud.
One of them I want to announce in advance is the fact that it's fast approaching carnival time. And Alain Papp is a real genius with costumes, masks, fans... so go check out his store, right by the square (AP Créations).

Another is Menthal's latest stroke of genius. Great gadgets, lots of fun. Not saying more, but go see in front of his store... and laugh. For 10L... believe me it's worth it.

Posting in haste but do go check out the great things and great prices - all at Vent du Sud, of course!

A very small artist's voice

Major discovery: if you click on the time on the lower tool bar, it also tells you the DATE! (Due thanks to Mr RL for this amazing find).
See, I get fuzzy about dates sometimes because this year has been a question of 'OMG deadline tonight / Friday / next Tuesday lunchtime'.
PUT IN A PARAGRAPH BREAK HERE PLEASE BLOGGER. Gah.
Have a picture... and why no, the photo is not straight. It attempts to shows the soft lighting effects of this flowerbox, which is of course a total revolution for your walls and solves alpha clashes with windows, and also I think they're pretty. Leather flowerbox, fabulous textures.
Onwards (oh, and lots of colours of leather for this one. Well, three... but more if you like). One of the primmer ones at 12. But details! Pretty!
And yes there is a point to this. November 4 and 5 seemed to be a long way away in late October (month of deadline and air travel hell). Also, I'm just emerging from a phase of SL in which I've been doing more, um, socialising and talking about the Meaning of Life than making stuff. This happens, although partly because even hauling prims after meeting deadlines seems to be like too much hard work. Let alone blogging. (Who said 'phew' over there in the cheap seats?).
Another one below. Looooook no alpha clashes against your windows! 6 prims!
(Yes I am still a crap photographer. I like this silvery one, though. The one below it that I cut off is pretty too. Really. Touch the frame and the candle goes out. Wow! And if you knew the scripting hell I went through to do that... small artist, remember?)

And why yes, all this to say I went and missed the boycott thing, which I wasn't going to do anyway (I'm on the side that says it was counter-productive). Also, the 4th and 5th disappeared somewhere in this week's fog of dates.

What I did want to do was to have a sale to support creators. So I'm having one.
I am horrified by the idea of copying people's stuff, although don't think I'm exactly the Next Big Target.
I do know, though (and respect the fact) that some SL creators need their income.
And they're being ruined by idiots who are basically thieves.
BREAK. PARAGRAPH BREAK. Blogger... why do you hate me so?
(Hits 'enter', looks at 'preview', weeps).

As I said in the title, I'm a very small creator and lucky that SL is a hobby (and even luckier that I don't have to meet many deadlines except paying tier. Which I tend to pay well in advance in case a month slips by without me noticing).
(Look - rustic. Pretty seaglass. Sculpts! 10 prims! Great textures! Bad photograph!)

If I could persuade Mr RL that putting just a little more money into SL (we're talking about, what, a couple of coffees a week, but he's in finance and figures and budgets) I would probably just give stuff away.

But he gets grumpy and does not understand the beauty of a soft leather boot on a virtual foot...

(Imagine a photo of my new SL boots here but you do NOT want to see my attempts at photographing myself...). Believe me on this.

But anyway. I usually price stuff based on the worst case scenario (see how this finance-speak drips off my tongue?), meaning that the average month means - if I keep away from too many soft leather boots and textures - I can hang in there and don't need to resort to bribery (oh, spoil yourself Mr RL and buy that bit of software and by the way I just need to top up my SL rent...).
So yes, I'm fortunate.

So - here's the deal. I've marked my flowerbox-things-for-walls down by about 60%. Until... whenever I remember to put the prices back to their whopping 150L or so. Most are at 50L. A couple are even down to 20L.
Here, an attempt at 'close-up'. And if you look REALLY close you can see that the partition wall I put up to take the photo isn't quite aligned.
PARAGRAPH BREAK DAMMIT
Great wall of greenery though. For 50L. Here (plug plug plug). Low-prim again because of amazing technology (gotta love sculpts). I think it's about 10 prims (or 9, or 11, and I'm not inworld to check, sorry).

Also, if you are an SL creator who wants one or some made for one of your amazing projects / stores, or somebody who wants a special or copiable one, send me an IM. I'm a great fan of barter. And nothing gets the creative juices flowing more than somebody saying 'can you make me something like this but with red...'.

And thus endeth (nearly) a rather (OK very) rambly post.
Please drop in and see our little spot of SL. The sim is easy to negotiate (as in it's half a homestead and Mr RL will get the rabbit-in-headlights look if I mention 'more land and prims' right now).
And I know, I know. Good thing I don't post often these days but I'm not usually quite this rambly.
Anyhow...

The main square is here
And the flowerboxes just over there
And for IMs (they come to my mail): Ariadne Korda
PS. If anybody knows how to make Blogger respect my paragraph breaks, let me know? I hate walls of text and it just won't put the damned things in sometimes and have to run because Mr RL is glaring and making 'fridge is empty' noises...
