Another day, another dollarbie from VENT DU SUD

Today's dollarbie at Vent du Sud: a CLASSY wreath: 4 prims, all sculpted (no alpha issues). You'll have to find it (hint - attached to a post not far from the ice rink). But that gives you time to pick up lots of other unique, elegant Christmas decor either free or at giveaway prices (another hint: some on the market stand, right beside the ice rink, at Rett's store).

Christmassy colours for the furnishings too - for instance this classy lantern (8 prims, automatic (SOFT) glow at night, mod/copy) is reduced from 79L to just 40L for a couple of days (again, near the ice rink).

And below, something fantastic from Geek Back: can you believe these shutters are just 3 prims? And the lamp is just ONE? Really, you have to see them to believe them. These lamps are copy / mod - just imagine the saving in prims!

Find them near to his curtains at Vent du Sud (some new models coming soon). He has other amazing sculpts (including roofs that have to be seen to be believed) at his new store, E & E - more than worth checking out.

More specials on the way but don't wait too long: some will disappear to make room for them!
Drop in at Vent du Sud: we're always pleased to see you (and if we do, we tend to hand out gifts).
Or just enjoy a skate, a dance, and watch the waves.

Rett, respect, and really special

I finally wrestled this pic of Rett's Christmas dress out of her, because she's busy making custom-made, fur-trimmed undies for a client (that no, she won't sell in the store in that version because according to Rett, custom is custom, and exclusive is exclusive).

Must say it looks chilly, though, when she lands on the square in a few skimpy bits of organza and fur (which is not snow-covered and won't be: I moved to the South of France to get away from shovelling the stuff where I used to live, which is quite irrelevant but this is my blog...

Anyway.

Details: fluffy red organza that moves beautifully. Two different tops. Different, and pretty.

Oh the price? Well, normally 400L but I wrestled a 25% discount on it, valid only at Rett's store here at Vent du Sud. So just 300L ("for the next few days only, Ari"). It's out front and impossible to miss, right near the tp point.

Oh, and it's also transferable so it makes a great, great gift (guys, note this...).

While I'm rambling about Rett and respect, I really do respect her. She cheerfully ignores my prodding to make more signs, more close-up photos, do more special offers or sales, offer lots of different colours, and tells me that she want to make her clients happy, whether that means fitting something, changing a detail or a colour, or coming up with a special gift for someone -

- which means a lot of her SL time is spent on making unique, custom items for her (extremely loyal) client base, whatever their shape, size or style. It also means that her dresses are not available in lots of colours ("because this is the colour I wanted for that dress, Ari but I can make you one in blue with a different neckline..."). Unique... is nice.

It works for her. And more power to her. She's happy with her business, and with her SL. Her prices for custom creations, considering the work and care that go into the service she gives, are more than competitive too.

And isn't that what it's all about?

Catch her by sending a notecard (Rett Gentil) if you'd like something completely personal. She'll take the time you need, and make something that will be truly yours.

(And quick plug: don't forget your Vent du sud original Christmas decor, including some really pretty stuff scattered around the square, for free or nearly). How about just 10L and 3 prims for this poinsettia pillar marking the entrance to the skating rink?)

Your own, personalised plane or kart

Wondering what to buy your favourite guy, girl, or a friend, this year? Something unique?

Well, how about a personalised version of this great little two-seater plane? In their own colours (or yours...), including a logo and the matching smoke effects. And a superbly-built masterpiece into the bargain.

And better, you have the option of an interactive distributor as well that gives any visitor a demo version to fly (meaning none of those 'you aren't the pilot, go away' messages). It then disappears on landing, so no prim-cluttering.

So, to the details: it's 30 prims (plus 1 for the plane-giver). The detailing is stunning, as are the effects (noises, propellers ... plane sort of things, y'know?)

It also comes with flying glasses, headset and microphone. Plus detailed instructions in English and French. Equally carefully crafted.

So how do you get one?

First, try one out at Vent du Sud: rezz a plane from the distributor, fly around, and it will (sadly) disappear once you land and stand up. Instructions come with it, don't worry. If you like it grab a friend and take another trip (twin-seater, remember)!

Then, contact MENTHAL OH, the creator, who will deliver your very own plane to you, in your favourite colours or with your own name or logo, within two days. He has a couple of versions to show you already. Your own plane won't disappear, though: it's yours, you are the pilot, and you can go exploring SL to your heart's content.

Price (here's the amazing part): for the plane plus accessories, and personalised - ONLY 300L

Yes, that low for something crafted with such care. And if you want a plane-giver for your friends, just an extra 100, meaning 400L (meaning unlimited planes can be rezzed)

Great deal, huh?

And if you don't like heights, try out the KART: same deal, same amazing accessories (this time with a full helmet plus opening vizor), also for an amazingly low 300 or 400L depending on whether you want your friends to come karting with you.

Same TP. And believe me, the Kart is... just wow. Imagine your own karting party in YOUR store's colours, for instance.

Only at Vent du Sud... and Menthal is often there but otherwise send him a quick notecard and he'll be delighted to tell you more.

And don't forget to check out our Christmas freebies, almost-freebies and of course our unique, friendly, little corner of SL.

St Nicolas!

HAPPY ST NICOLAS everyone: lots of gifts and dollarbies - read on!

Long time no blog but take a short vacation, then the flu, then the catching-up...

... and you get Vent du Sud being a little behind on Christmas despite lots of good intentions.

BUT... there's a pretty, unique free tree in my subscribo today (transferable and mini) or this version on the square (copy/mod) for just 50L (you have to see the bolts of lightning in action, believe me) - so go click on it, right by the TP, and pick it up!
Also, the pool has turned into a skating rink with FREE skates... and beside it, is a bowl that gives out silver glasses of hot wine to sip for just 10L (with a freebie next to it - the white poinsettia below, with a candle you can blow out)!
Find it near to the pool and the skates, and there are a couple of other goodies there to... up to you to find them!

Check out the market stand too - a great gift from Alain of AC Creations, and a dollarbie Christmas tree with twinkling lights plus a classy red-and green copiable topiary for just 5L.
Come regularly - and click on anything Christmassy. The idea is to offer you free or almost-free, classy decor as and when we put it out.
But careful - things will be rotated: grab them now before it's too late!
There will be lots more gifts and surprises to come from myself, Rett Gentil, Menthal Oh and Geek Back too - all on and around the main square at Vent du Sud.

A very small artist's voice

Major discovery: if you click on the time on the lower tool bar, it also tells you the DATE! (Due thanks to Mr RL for this amazing find).
See, I get fuzzy about dates sometimes because this year has been a question of 'OMG deadline tonight / Friday / next Tuesday lunchtime'.
PUT IN A PARAGRAPH BREAK HERE PLEASE BLOGGER. Gah.
Have a picture... and why no, the photo is not straight. It attempts to shows the soft lighting effects of this flowerbox, which is of course a total revolution for your walls and solves alpha clashes with windows, and also I think they're pretty. Leather flowerbox, fabulous textures.
Onwards (oh, and lots of colours of leather for this one. Well, three... but more if you like). One of the primmer ones at 12. But details! Pretty!
And yes there is a point to this. November 4 and 5 seemed to be a long way away in late October (month of deadline and air travel hell). Also, I'm just emerging from a phase of SL in which I've been doing more, um, socialising and talking about the Meaning of Life than making stuff. This happens, although partly because even hauling prims after meeting deadlines seems to be like too much hard work. Let alone blogging. (Who said 'phew' over there in the cheap seats?).
Another one below. Looooook no alpha clashes against your windows! 6 prims!
(Yes I am still a crap photographer. I like this silvery one, though. The one below it that I cut off is pretty too. Really. Touch the frame and the candle goes out. Wow! And if you knew the scripting hell I went through to do that... small artist, remember?)

And why yes, all this to say I went and missed the boycott thing, which I wasn't going to do anyway (I'm on the side that says it was counter-productive). Also, the 4th and 5th disappeared somewhere in this week's fog of dates.

What I did want to do was to have a sale to support creators. So I'm having one.
I am horrified by the idea of copying people's stuff, although don't think I'm exactly the Next Big Target.
I do know, though (and respect the fact) that some SL creators need their income.
And they're being ruined by idiots who are basically thieves.
BREAK. PARAGRAPH BREAK. Blogger... why do you hate me so?
(Hits 'enter', looks at 'preview', weeps).

As I said in the title, I'm a very small creator and lucky that SL is a hobby (and even luckier that I don't have to meet many deadlines except paying tier. Which I tend to pay well in advance in case a month slips by without me noticing).
(Look - rustic. Pretty seaglass. Sculpts! 10 prims! Great textures! Bad photograph!)

If I could persuade Mr RL that putting just a little more money into SL (we're talking about, what, a couple of coffees a week, but he's in finance and figures and budgets) I would probably just give stuff away.

But he gets grumpy and does not understand the beauty of a soft leather boot on a virtual foot...

(Imagine a photo of my new SL boots here but you do NOT want to see my attempts at photographing myself...). Believe me on this.

But anyway. I usually price stuff based on the worst case scenario (see how this finance-speak drips off my tongue?), meaning that the average month means - if I keep away from too many soft leather boots and textures - I can hang in there and don't need to resort to bribery (oh, spoil yourself Mr RL and buy that bit of software and by the way I just need to top up my SL rent...).
So yes, I'm fortunate.

So - here's the deal. I've marked my flowerbox-things-for-walls down by about 60%. Until... whenever I remember to put the prices back to their whopping 150L or so. Most are at 50L. A couple are even down to 20L.
Here, an attempt at 'close-up'. And if you look REALLY close you can see that the partition wall I put up to take the photo isn't quite aligned.
PARAGRAPH BREAK DAMMIT
Great wall of greenery though. For 50L. Here (plug plug plug). Low-prim again because of amazing technology (gotta love sculpts). I think it's about 10 prims (or 9, or 11, and I'm not inworld to check, sorry).

Also, if you are an SL creator who wants one or some made for one of your amazing projects / stores, or somebody who wants a special or copiable one, send me an IM. I'm a great fan of barter. And nothing gets the creative juices flowing more than somebody saying 'can you make me something like this but with red...'.

And thus endeth (nearly) a rather (OK very) rambly post.
Please drop in and see our little spot of SL. The sim is easy to negotiate (as in it's half a homestead and Mr RL will get the rabbit-in-headlights look if I mention 'more land and prims' right now).
And I know, I know. Good thing I don't post often these days but I'm not usually quite this rambly.
Anyhow...

The main square is here
And the flowerboxes just over there
And for IMs (they come to my mail): Ariadne Korda
PS. If anybody knows how to make Blogger respect my paragraph breaks, let me know? I hate walls of text and it just won't put the damned things in sometimes and have to run because Mr RL is glaring and making 'fridge is empty' noises...

Saturday 3 October 2009

Never mind the quality, read the breathless prose (rant)

Sheesh my blogs are getting boring and all about - well - SELLING stuff.
And oh dear, it's one of those days.

Well, I could get into a rant about nobody caring about my utterly exquisite creations. Or I could go away and make some more...

... or continue staring at 'bloggers' raving about an extremely marketing-savvy designer whose stuff I wouldn't buy if you paid me. But hey, kudos to her and her little band of breathless prose writers. Really. I do mean that and why of course I'm a little jealous.

Because marketing is most definitely where it's at. And I'd rather be either making things* or watching virtual waves or dancing on the square.

(I actually wanted to put this photo lower down but Blogger hates me this morning and it won't budge. So, plug*. ). I'm only human. Lousy photographer, but human ;)

Snob, you are no doubt muttering to yourselves. Who wants a 3-D arty-farty... thing for their walls anyway (although please note that it is actually at 90° despite the lousy photo.

And what about poor Ms Newbie who needs to be encouraged?

Well... yes. Definitely. But...

I was thinking about my first wonky glass bowl yesterday, and horrified at the thought that I actually tried to sell it. But (fortunately) I met a very pleasant builder-guy who was a lot SL-older and wiser than me, who said ever so politely 'you may want to work a little on your building, however tempting it is to jump on the oooooo let's do business' bandwagon.

He was so right. At this point I could show the said glass bowl, but it could be extraordinarily embarrassing. I rather hope it's fallen into the Big Inventory Void. Oh to hell with it - here it is. Why does SL save that and eat my seagull?

And no, it's not at 90°. But behold the huge discovery that you could put dimples into spheres and slap a freebie texture on. Way to go!

(Sadly, this amazing item is no longer for sale, please don't flood me with requests).

What am I actually writing about here? Good question. It's Saturday morning, and I should be running around doing laundry and gearing up for a long work trip as of Tuesday to a Long Way Away.

Actually, I think I'm saying I'd rather be making my silly fiddly things * that nobody buys than churning out same old, same old or really making the investment in time and Lindens to get my stuff known. (*another plug while we're at it).

But at the same time, much as I admire people who do get their stuff out there, I sort of prefer discovering that it's good stuff. Quality may be in the eyes of the beholder, but sloppy, blurry textures and wonky seams / alignments tend to stop me in my tracks before I can admire the 'look' for its 'artistic value'.

Here endeth a fairly useless ramble. Better than laundry, though.

And did I say plug?

NEW! Fleurs du Sud flowerboxes

Back to lots of activity at Vent du Sud after the summer. Rett is muttering and fine-tuning some brand new outfits, Menthal is spreading smoke all over the square as he works on a plane (more about all this later as the flight scripts are... not quite ready, meaning - well - you can imagine but be prepared to duck).

And me? Well, after a little gentle persuasion on the lines of 'less gossiping, blogging and go and make something' from my much-loved friends... I did.

I still need to take some decent photos... OK I need to learn to take decent photos.

But after all this rambling, here's a preview: FLEURS DU SUD and a line of 'flowerboxes' and other floral arrangements that are - I think - unique in SL. Find the new store on the main square!

Why? Because just popping a pot in a plant anywhere near a window and the delightful SL alpha-issue immediately rears its head. With a flowerbox on your wall, that's one problem less, eh?

What? Elegant frames, a mix of sculpts, soft lighting, water, superb textures. Bring greenery and elegance, nature into your home for a real touch of class and a statement piece if ever there was one. (Pumpkins: note the pumpkins...).

How much? Prices are all below 200L (some well below and one is marked down to just 50L - go look!). Prims: from 7 to 16. So far, 8 to choose from and more on the way

(Note:) My subscribo people will be getting a special flowerbox FREE as soon as I have a few minutes. Find the machine outside the Vent du Sud shop, also on the square.

Class (and Rett puts something on SALE)!

Now, girls and boys. Time for a math lesson - absolutely essential for working out how to handle those Linden dollars, no?

At Vent du Sud, our guys are always helpful, see. And Geek Back's latest scripting masterpiece is just that. Touch the blackboard, and you're all set for an interactive lesson (in English...). Slouch on one of the benches, and feel sorry for the little guy in the corner wearing the Dunce's cap, or admire the amazing detail in the classroom, expertly created by Geek and Menthal Oh. And, no - it's not for sale, just for fun, although the blackboard (seriously, it's soooooo clever) can be yours, tailored to your own needs, by contacting Geek.

If you're interested in a schoolroom setting for role play, then let Geek or Menthal know, and they'd be happy to provide desks (they have great animations) and the other accessories too.

And naturally, our very own Rett Gentil joined in the 'back to school' fun too. And (wait for it...) her schoolgirl outfit is available ON SALE. Yes, I really said sale. For 250 instead of 350, and ONLY in the classroom. Lots of options with this outfit, and definitely a very sexy schoolgirl indeed. Thanks, Rett - I'm so glad she has a roomy store with us with all her unique styles, so don't forget to check them out (plus her subscribo and cute free outfit).

So, drop in and test your brain power, pick up our other superb Vent du sud freebies (new ones coming soon, yet again), and relax by the sea in the warm, gentle end-of-summer days in a superb Mediterranean setting.

RECIF DE REVE - REEF OF DREAMS

Something very special this month at Vent du Sud: an underwater (yes - underwater) photo exhibition by R0bin Helsinki, one of SL's fun, dynamic photographers with an eye for the 'different'. It's opening today, but will run for the whole month of September

How to visit? Well, wearing scuba gear specially made by Geek Back for the occasion - pick it up here for free, and glide through the stunning photos, lit up by your divers' mask and with the smooth, perfect animation making it all a great experience. In a hurry? You can visit on foot and admire the great photos (mind the stingray, OK?).

So please drop in, enjoy a swim, a game of pétanque or, enjoy a whiff of the Mediterranean.

Other great surprises are in store too... always something new to see and do at Vent du Sud, not forgetting the great shopping for unique décor and classy clothes.

SL at its worst: help, anyone?

(this post also explains why there's still a sale at one of the Vent du Sud stores... no time to go put the normal prices back...!)
This is part of a build I did a while back: a 'community and retail' area for a lovely, mainly residential place that was recently bought out by one of the residents, and a friend of mine.
Sooo, last night Europe time, a good half of the houses, interiors, things in stores, etc. disappeared. Some things have been returned to 'lost and found'. Some haven't. On my own sim, a few weird things happened but not to this extent.
Whether it was SL's asset server in this case (I think so - I hope so), or whether somebody deposited a mass of junk that filled up the sim and meant that everything not set to the group was sent back - not sure yet. But, obviously, there are a lot of very upset residents and retailers. And yes of course things should have been set to the group but that's what happens when permissions, etc. aren't as carefully set up as they should be from the outset.
Yes, they've asked for a rollback but it's part of a mainland sim, meaning all other owners have to agree. If this doesn't happen, then we're all just hoping that people will be sympathetic and patient and not attack the new owner, who is completely distraught.
It will be fixed. Somehow. I'm hoping to enlist a few builder and decor-making friends to help replace anything 'lost', if the rollback doesn't happen.
And sure, I'd be really, really happy if any other builders / furniture makers would be prepared to help out by contributing a few things to people who have lost their stuff. If you feel you can help, then please, please let me know (Ariadne Korda) and I'll put you in touch with the owner and managers.
Yes, I know this probably sounds like some sort of scam. But it's not. The new owner is a lovely lady and is taking this really hard, so I'm appealing for a little solidarity. Not for money.
Thanks so much to anyone who is prepared to lend a hand.

90% off in a whole store full of stuff

First, yes I do mean 90% off: it's valid for everything in the Vent du Sud store next to the ice cream cart, for a day (or two, or three... but no more). It includes the fireplace, fountain, multi-anim cushions, rugs, great pottery, wall hangings, etc. Soon, that store will have an entirely new range of pretty things, and I need to get on with them.

In addition to that, we're all gearing up to fun things like an underwater expo and a 'back to school' month, which means I need to organise myself.

And it's just so easy to get distracted (and play Barbie, although hey, it's fun. As is chatting to great people).

But... sitting around watching waves is fine for a while. And then it's time to be a little more active and quit the navel-gazing.

So go pick up what's there before I think I've gone completely nuts.

Remember - next to the ice cream cart, right by the tp point. And pick that up too - it's at a great price, it's wearable and it's FUN (and it's colour-change). A great addition to any sim. Just pay the poster 190L and you can hand out ice cream to all your visitors (or wear it and ride it around if you can't spare the 36 prims!).
Just off to watch waves for a while. Really, just for a little while...

The classiest cowgirl in France?

Rett isn't online as I write this, but no, she still doesn't do sales. I do try now and then, and she does have a special offer lined up for next month. But I know when I'm beaten.

She does, however, have her very own take on the cowgirl look. These two outfits are definitely more for strutting your stuff on a dance floor than rounding up a few steers, but they're fun, and versatile.

Come check them out at her store in Vent du Sud - just to the left as you go in.
No, they're not cheap - but (I quote) "Ari, I don't do cheap". Ah, Rett. I love her to bits. Where would we be on Vent du Sud without our very own lady from the US?
There's plenty of cleavage, lovely soft, figure-hugging denim, detailed belt, pretty beading on the waistcoat /tee, although you could pop a tee underneath, or swap the
boots (which come with the outfit) for something more... less... well, up to you.

Anyhow, these are among Rett's best sellers, she tells me. AND.... (wait for it) she puts your name (or a friend's if you'd like to give it as a gift, it's transfer) for... free. And she gets it to you fast, too.

And if you haven't clicked her subscribo yet (there's a free dress for signing up) or grabbed her very smart grey beaded outfit which is her store gift, what are you waiting for?

Come browse, relax, swim, dance at Vent du Sud, and discover the classiest cowgirl ever to grace a French-themed sim!

Bundles of bargains and delightful drapes!

Last night at Vent du Sud... a quiet moment in our special 'Decor of the Month'.

So, while we get ready for lots of surprises here, why not grab either the amazing value 300L package (a huge bundle of great furniture, art, lighting, etc.) with great animations, or the (incredibly low-priced) individual items from the Decor of the month (August) setting - right by the main square. Only a few days left!

I mean... superb artwork (from Menthal) at just 30L for a tryptich, scripted candles at 5L... it doesn't get much cheaper, particularly for such great, great quality. And we really care about that.

And if you need SL's most adaptable, simple, ONE-PRIM modifiable, tintable and copiable one-prim drapes / curtains, drop in to Vent du Sud opposite the TP point, made by yours truly.

Here's an example with a pale cream tint (the base is white) with the horizontal repeat set to 3.00. Those in my store (see below) are tinted blue and the horizontal texture repeat is set to 1.00. But it takes just seconds to change the colour, stretch...

But just think - you can embellish every single window, in whatever colour, shape or size you need ... and click your drapes open and closed on touch.

In fact, if you know the elements of building you can take these very same curtains and make them into a hollowed cylinder, stretch or cut, and you have circular ones, or to fit bay windows... there's no limit.

(Or ask me to make you a version tailored to your own windows - I'd be happy to help).

So at 150L, you can have an endless supply of sober yet stylish curtains!

And even if you don't want to buy anything, drop in and relax at Vent du Sud: a little slice of the Mediterranean populated by slightly crazy (sorry, guys) but extremely friendly designers, builders and scripters.

We're ALWAYS happy to discuss projects or custom work with you, so don't be shy. Oh, and bring your bikini!

Coming up tomorrow: Rett (who still doesn't do sales) and her popular cowgirl outfits... drop in and check it out already!

Hot, lazy days, and introducing Fanny

Hot lazy me, too, lately. So excuses for the long post but I need to catch up a little!

At Vent du Sud we're gearing up for the end of summer. A whole lot of new, fun things to do and see are in the works, but these last few days I've been enjoying the sun and the peace both in RL and SL.
So here's an idea: come and spend a moment relaxing with us and enjoy a few things that make Vent du Sud so special - and spend absolutely nothing... or go mad and spend 1L on a fun pedal boat ride.
- The pedalo, or pedal boat (from the dock, 30 minutes for 1L)
- Swimming (the pool, or from the dock or the rocks - free)
- The lighthouse for those romantic moments à deux (free)
- Specials and freebies. Find them all over the sim. And just 1L in the tip jar basket makes a gift-wrapped aquarium appear. Or some pretty candles and stuff at tiny prices on the market stand
- A great free outfit at Rett Gentil's place
... and, of course, dance as the sun sets to great music, plus the soft sounds of waves and cigales. Ah, summer in the south!
And last but BY NO MEANS LEAST, grab a pastis (aniseed alcohol) and have a round of pétanque (French bowling). And before I go any further, Fanny is a) a fairly common French name, and b) tradition says if you lose by 13-0, you get to kiss her... er... cheek. Hence the poster. These "Fanny" boards are part of any self-respecting "boulodrome". Hmmm. This is France, as I'm often reminded, as I live there.
See, Geek Back has been weaving scripting magic again. He's developed the entire system (PING-PONG, Ari? Oh please. This is France. We can do better). So he did.
Ours gives out free HUDs, or you can buy the system (the whole system is just 350L including the bowls, the HUDs free for your friends, the pitch, and the scoreboard) to use at your own place, and earn 20%
commission if you sell it to others (networked system which is very clever and waaaay beyond my limited grasp of scripting).
Oh, and you get nice shiny... er... balls. It's right by the square. Just look for the oh-so-subtle poster here, next to the square.
It's easy, it's clever, and most of all it's a whole lot of fun although there's a little skill involved to get closest to the Jack ball (the 'little pig') - although obviously, that's all calculated by the system so no cheating! All the instructions are included with the (free) HUD.
Believe me, if I'm looking for the guys at Vent du Sud, they're usually over there. So come try it!

Rett Gentil - VERY special offer from She Who Does Not Do Sales

Life at Vent du Sud is never boring. Not with this crowd around.

One thing I love about Rett Gentil (among a lot of others) is that she frequently says 'no' when I nag her. It makes life so much more interesting...!
Some things, she won't give in. As in she doesn't do sales. She's really generous with her group, often gives people some great gifts when she sees them at the store, but sales? Nope. She makes new, classy items and quietly retires older ones, and that... is that.
'I do not do sales, Ari'. Period. And I admire her for it, even though she knows I don't agree. (Mind, on the other hand, she does SUPERB custom work and her clients just adore her for that... not to mention for her unique style).
However, what you see above is a small triumph. After wheedling and coaxing (and yes, OK, nagging), she agreed to put out one of her really pretty summer outfits at 30% off. It's two outfits in one, and 250L instead of 350L (for just two days, Ari....). I did try for 50% but... nope. ('My customers don't want to feel the clothes they wear are going to be sold off for peanuts, Ari')
Summery and with a sort of French feel, I suggested? (A girl can hope).
She came up with 'Bali sunset'.
Er.... OK. You can't win 'em all. Summery it is. Beautifully crafted it certainly is.
Go check it out at Vent du Sud! (And yep, only there... I do know when I'm getting a special favour!).
Love ya, Rett :)

To the lighthouse!

Ever had those moment on SL where you just want a few minutes of peace and quiet? Either alone or with a friend?

Thought so, and me too. And one place I go sometimes, to watch the waves, to listen to them, to think, is the Vent du Sud lighthouse.

We put it there for just that - somewhere to relax. There's a rug upstairs for relaxing of the more, er, intimate kind too. And the place is there for anybody who feels like taking a little time out (or even to change clothes, sort inventory... up to you). Just feel free to use it - and you don't need to buy a thing.

If you DO want to buy something, however... today, I decided to pop a comfy seating corner with colour-change cushions and lots of anims in there, and to reduce it by 75% - to just 50L.
Then I got carried away and put the lighthouse itself on sale at 50% off too (for just 2 days). With the revolving light, and the doors, it's just 24 prims, and you can walk up the ladders to the upper floor or the higher decks and admire the sunset. Perfect for a first home or a great addition to larger land (it fits a 512). For 150L, it's really a bargain. Grab the box beside the door, and yell if you get tired of the ladders and want me (Ariadne Korda) to put you a tp in.
And last but not least, I put out a couple of freebies and dollarbies: a chest, lamp and nautical carpet

So come watch the waves, dance, and discover our guys weaving scripting magic (between getting carried away by an exciting new game - news of that later).
See you soon at Vent du Sud, where SL is all about having fun!

PS: if you catch Rett Gentil on the square, nag her to show you her latest dress and remind her I'm waiting for a photo, to show you yet another good reason to drop in!

Watching others work!

Yes, I know lots of people make bean bags. But as the boys are busy doing complicated scripty things at Vent du Sud (watch out for a great game coming up soon), I decided to put mine out and watch them wave their arms about and toss around a few expletives.
What's more, there are two animations for men in there (see the dark version (OK for the ladies too but maybe not in a short skirt...?).
I don't know about you but I hate to see a group of people all sitting in the same pose. So this one-prim wonder has four (or was it five?) shades of suede, and four animations. And I'm selling it for... 20L instead of the usual 70 (it's transfer - if you'd like a copy version or other colours, just ask me, Ariadne Korda).
Had to celebrate, see. My daughter passed her driving test on Friday, and yesterday was the Swiss national holiday (RL man is Swiss).
So drop by and pick one up (and just ignore two guys waving their arms around and talking scriptese and hoping I'll just sit quietly and not make useless suggestions.
Hope to see you soon at Vent du Sud!
