In which I turn my focus from my own navel

Vent du Sud isn't just me, it's also a bunch of friends and fellow creators.

So today a quick look at Menthal Oh and his latest, superb... gadgets? Masterpieces?
Doesn't everybody need a snowball bazooka?

My PC appears to have eaten the one showing it shooting  HUGE SNOWBALLS.  Incredibly detailed with blinking lights. And speaking of lights...

Everybody DOES need one of these, right? (I do mean the sunbed)

The tanning bed has lights and poses... and yes I did mutter yesterday about one of those tanning beds for, er, more than one person.

Find both on the Vent du Sud square.

And, of course there is Ms 'I don't do sales, Ari', our own Rett Gentil.

Who HAS put her heavy satin Christmas dress out at her Vent du Sud store with a massive 25% off this week only (and here only). Rett has had a few health issues but is up and running and is her old self again (only a WEEK, Ari...).

Coming up also, Gefi the builder and R0bin Helsinki's stunning new photo exhibition (which is in place already but we're working on dates for an opening party). It's unusual. Go see at the Art Café but more on it later.

Vent du Sud - warming toes and a taste of further south

Old beads. I make curtain ties from them in RL.
Grey, cold Sunday in RL, so I fiddled with some photos from Marrakesh... there's a series of 8 of these, framed and TRANSFERABLE up inside the Vent du Sud Winter Cabin
(yep, it's still on sale for 50L)

Price per picture? Need you ask? 1L each. And not only do they have a luxurious wood frame (see below), the owner can resize them and also decide if they want full bright or not.

Isn't he great?
Tassels. My cats eat them...
Hope you like them. Good memories of sunshine and blue skies.

Wish I was there right now, but at least I'm toasting in front of the Vent du Sud stove (yes, also 1L, copy) and thinking of mint tea (OK and a glass of rosé). Find that in the cabin with the pictures.

Drop in and see them at Vent du Sud and keep your feet warm too?
Yep, the RL one is going strong too. Brrrr...

PS: no, still not taken the Abyss leather pants off yet because they are that good. If a little warm!
PPS: Vent du Sud means wind from the south... the warm, balmy one not this icy cold mistral blowing in RL. Bah!

Sepia, stress and something else with S

Sensational? Stupid?

Not sure. Both, probably.

Anyway, nitty gritty. My own photos, in sepia, are there for the taking right for 1L a picture, here (are you sick of the Vent du sud Winter Cabin for 50L plugs yet, but they are displayed in the big one?).

Taken in Morocco this October, they show some of the crafts and architecture I saw.

Yours for 1L and TRANSFER but this is not all, oh no. Thanks to Geek Back's excellent script for pictures, the owner can resize them and make them full bright or not.

Beads in the souk - 1L with frame and resize script here

Great gifts, no? Come grab them here as they will only be up for a couple of days.

I even made a poster, look!

OK, this was sepia. Time for bright yellow?

Vent du Sud does trees (and lots of other things in the pipeline)

Trees NOW for 1L. The hammock? Very soon. Join the subscribo for news here
I really wanted some more trees at Vent du Sud. And despite having, um (counts on fingers) 2 very big and half a dozen smaller building projects on the go, I wandered off and made some sculpt ones (3 prims per bush, 5 for the big tree).

They are called 'Graceful' because a) they are and b) the sim is called Graces, and there are three bushes and one tree, all at 1L and all copiable.

Cabins are copy, gorgeous and 50L only, here
The hammock... nearly finished too but I decided I needed other colours so that's in the pipeline for any time soon. If you join the subscribo outside the Vent du Sud mainstore (hint) you will hear about the new things AND get gifts.

Find the trees near the 50L Winter Cabins (not forgetting the 50L lighthouses  - 3 of them on the sim).

PS and EEK apparently I forgot to put the big tree on sale yesterday when sending a note via the subscribo. There now!

Great props for photos too btw. Particularly for those who take better ones than I do. Hair by Slink, sweater Fishy Strawberry cashmere and Coco slimfit jeans (tinted).

Off to build... but come get the trees, OK?

Intrepid explorer - 52 weeks of colour (sepia)

Hello. I am one of those fruity ladies from last century who hacks their way through jungles to find hidden civilisations  All dressed up in khaki (OK in this case sepia), striding along followed by people carrying my tent, the rest of my wardrobe, and a case of fine wine.

Mind, it gets a little hot and tiring at times.

Night is falling. Should I pitch my tent?

VERY finely crafted indeed and only 50L (come see it at Vent du Sud)

Bring on the camp bed, dear people while I  relax a little and admire (and make sure the ladder's stowed away tonight, don't want lions in here).

There, wonderful. Let's sit on the deck and watch the sunset. Where's that wine?

Details:
Hurry to Vent du Sud to get the tree house at 50L and play with the shutters, the ladders, etc etc (bring your own wine).
Admire the home made pith helmet, adapted from a helmet in the inventory library (a little clunky but yell if you want one)
And also, GField bow shirt, PixelDolls Leonidas jacket, and Shiny Things pouch belt.

More sepia decor goodness to come but I got a little carried away with the pith helmet so maybe tomorrow. But plenty of other finely crafted 1L decor at Vent du Sud. Always.

Shoot

Not content with making smoke emitters and bubbles and foam and fairy lights and what have you that ooze all over the Vent du Sud main square (why do people never turn them OFF?) Menthal Oh has recently come up with this.

Mind, before it was finished there was much testing, together with script genius Geek Back.
Bottles flew, exploded, flew around... guns were brandished, until it all worked beautifully. Even better, the broken glass clears itself up, or we'd have been knee deep in it by now.

What is it? Well, you click to line up the bottles and then shoot 'em (with the pistol kindly provided).
No, it is not free, but it's a fun item for any sim where, y'know, people wave pistols around. Have yourself a champagne shooting party (I'll just loiter and drink it, thanks).

And if you don't want to waste the bubbly, then you can shoot balloons instead (below, me watching them bounce around and showing off the new leather pants from The Abyss and oh boy they are gorgeous).

So come shoot some bottles?

Me being mean, I suggested a row of cute little Santas in place of the champagne but think of the bloodshed on the square.

But I did suggest snowmen... and Mental was last seen muttering about a snow cannon.

For now, though drop in and try out it at Vent du Sud while picking up some of our remarkable 1L decor and fabulous 50L builds.

You may also, of course, spread bubbles and foam and smoke all over the square but please hit the big red OFF button before you leave? Heh.

Yes, THAT sort of bed. A Vent du Sud, er, exclusive

If you haven't seen  Journey Lorakeet's blog, Prim Game Proper, than go look - some great, unusual fashion finds and fabulous photography. On my blogroll over there.

However, she has an amazing sense of humour too, and is also responsible for this.

Yes, it's a little over the top. But it was fun.

Retractable curtain, and singles, hugs and... the rest. 1L. 12 prims.

Yes, this is one of THOSE beds. Although I always thought my SL vocation didn't include, y'know, that sort of animations, I did buy what could be coyly termed an 'engine' (hah!) a while back when making stuff for friends.

It has quite a LOT of rather nice anims, actually. Not the clunky freebie ones (yes OK I tried it out as a good builder should).

With the curtain up and no, no pics of couples - you'll have to try it.

Back to Journey. Her reaction to the Plumgasm line (at the Vent du Sud mainstore) was...

Journey Lorakeet: I'm still waiting on the humpable plums
[09:49]  Ariadne Korda: You want humpable plums?
[09:49]  Ariadne Korda: I may quote you on this
Ariadne Korda: you do realise I shall never look at a plum the same again now?
[09:51]  Journey Lorakeet: yes, that is my intention
[09:51]  Journey Lorakeet: gutter minds
[09:51]  Ariadne Korda: think alike?
Ariadne Korda: humpable plums then (WHAT AM I SAYING?)
[09:52]  Journey Lorakeet: YES

So off I went to make one. A nice big, fun, plummy, playground sort of bed which could double as a (small) gazebo.
Remember to click on the circular curtain?

This will be an exclusive in a manner of speaking. As in it will be out on the Vent du Sud square today only for 12 hours or so as of right now.

Yes, you may try it (fully clothed, please). You may buy it for 1L (or contribute more if so inclined, it being a limited (in time) edition and all... LOL).

And then it will be tucked back in my inventory again, never to emerge.

(Or should I do a red Christmas version?)

Mind, I will take suggestions (even from Journey) for other, er, items outside my usual range. Except it will probably be named after you.  I would even make it in apple or banana if really pushed...

Vent du Sud. Where challenges can at times involve a whole lot of fun.

And, of course, don't forget to check out our decor (1L for everything) and builds (50L each).
